A Legacy of Compassion

Established in 1969 by Lutheran churches, The Lutheran Home was created to address a crucial need in Southeast Missouri—providing comfort and care to area seniors. We opened our doors in 1972 as a 60-bed nursing home, and in our 50+ year history we have served more than 35,000 individuals in Southeast Missouri. Today, we are home to more than 400 seniors on a beautiful 40+ acre campus.

Our work is meaningful, necessary and makes a significant impact on our community. We have a 50+ year heritage as a 501(c)3, dedicated to meeting the evolving needs of seniors. We’d like to invite you into our world, and into our mission.

Our Growth and Services

From our humble beginnings, we have grown into a vibrant community, serving the needs of seniors with a comprehensive range of services:

  • Independent Living at Saxony Village
  • Assisted Living
  • Skilled Care (including residential hospice)
  • Memory Care
  • Short-term Rehabilitation through Providence Place
  • Transitional Care through Providence Pointe at Assisted Living
  • Hospice Care through Providence Hospice

Our full continuum of care means that residents here may have needs that evolve, and we are prepared to support them throughout their life in a loving community.

Mission

Provide a grace-filled community of care and companionship where individuals enjoy vibrant living at every stage. We enrich lives through a lifestyle that makes the body strong, keeps the intellect sharp and nourishes the spirit.

Vision

To aspire to live each day fulfilled at every stage of life.

Values

Service: We approach every day with a servant’s heart to do all we can for those in our care, and to lead others through service.

Excellence: We pursue excellence in all that we do, and strive to deliver the highest quality clinical experiences in the area.

Dignity: In full conviction that every human being deserves respect and love, we ensure each resident is treated with warmth and compassion while maintaining their dignity and personal identity.

Fulfillment: Understanding that quality of life is directly related to self-worth and self-actualization, we relentlessly pursue ways to help others live full and fulfilled lives at every stage of life.

Grace: Knowing the grace God has bestowed on all people through the forgiveness of sin, we extend grace to one another by our words, deeds and actions in extension of that gift.

Stewardship: As a not-for-profit organization serving our community, we practice stewardship and discipline with our resources, making strategic decisions that support our vision.

Leadership

As an independent, nonprofit organization that employs more than 400 people, all dedicated to the needs of those who call our campus home, we entrust our mission to a group of individuals who share our values.

Executive Team

Our leadership team is a talented, dedicated group of professionals who bring diverse skill sets to managing our campus.

Where People Matter Most

We are thankful for our 5-star ratings and recognition in the field. That said, we believe that the best accolades come from our residents and their families. Their appreciation makes humbly grateful for the trust they’ve placed in us, and in our ability to serve them well. Here are some examples of what they think about the team in our health center.
