Focus on Community Needs Drives Lutheran Home & Saxony Village
The world of senior living and long-term care is always evolving, creating a need for more diverse services as well as different ways to deliver those. At the Lutheran Home, this means focusing on the quality of care, creating an environment promotes community, and responding to emerging needs in a thoughtful, resident-centered manner.
“At the Lutheran Home we constantly work to ensure we are well-prepared to serve community needs with the highest standard of care, delivered in a comfortable environment by a compassionate, highly-trained team,” said Teresa Brown, Chief Operating Officer of the Lutheran Home. “Across our entire campus, residents live vibrant, active lives in a community that focuses on being healthy in mind, body and spirit.”
The Lutheran Home consistently receives 5-star ratings by CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services), which is the highest level of care quality. For the second year in a row, we have also been named as one of the Top 10 Nursing Homes in the State of Missouri by Newsweek Magazine and Statista, coming in at #5 for 2025. For the community, this means the best care in the area.
New single-family cottages are currently being built at Saxony Village Retirement Community, as a way to better serve active retirees. The cottages offer the ultimate in retirement living, with open floor-plans and luxurious finishes. Designed for the active lifestyle, these homes include maintenance, meals, activities, lawncare and many more amenities.
To meet the needs of families facing end of life care for a loved one, the Lutheran Home opened a unit in 2023 specifically dedicated to the hospice journey. Through that service and Providence Hospice, families can focus on quality time with their loved one, assured that they are receiving the best possible care.
“As we look toward the future, we will evolve, add services and improve our campus to best meet the needs of seniors and their families Southeast Missouri,” Brown added. “We are excited to see what the coming years bring.”
